Four-port PoE powering

4× IEEE 802.3af/at Gigabit Ethernet ports: 30 W on a single port and up to 75 W total, with remote PoE Mode A/B selection.

Cable or mains powered

Draws 60/90 VAC line power from the HFC coax cable (40–120 VAC wide-range input), or runs from 110–220 VAC mains with the AC power supply option.

Per-port PSE monitoring

Every PSE port is monitored and managed individually, including the input and output voltage and current of each terminal.

Operator management

OMCI, Web, Telnet and SNMP for remote monitoring and configuration; OMCI / FTP upgrade with dual-image backup and rollback.

Applications

Where the uOPG800 works

As an outdoor fiber ONT, the uOPG800 terminates GPON at the curb — fed through passive splitters from a U5 Series GPON OLT — and powers and connects field devices over its four PoE ports.

U5 / U8 GPON OLT 1:128 UNT ONU uOPG800 FiberTrix

FTTC outdoor access

IP67, temperature-hardened GPON termination for outside-plant networks exposed to temperature swings, voltage imbalance and electrical surges.

uOPG800 Camera Signage

Cameras & digital signage

PoE links to security and traffic cameras and digital signage over the same LAN cable that carries their data.

uOPG800 Wi-Fi AP Wi-Fi AP

Wi-Fi AP backhaul

Gigabit PoE ports power and connect Wi-Fi access points in the field — streets, campuses, venues and public spaces.

Outdoor gateway or SFP stick?

Both terminate GPON at the subscriber edge. The uOPG800 is a sealed outdoor unit that also powers field devices; the UNT sticks disappear inside a host device you already own.

FAQ

uOPG800 questions, answered

What is an outdoor GPON ONT?

An outdoor GPON ONT (optical network terminal — also classed as an ONU) terminates a GPON fiber line outside the building, in a sealed, temperature-hardened housing instead of an indoor box. The uOPG800 adds four Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE, so one unit both ends the fiber and powers the devices at the site.

How is the uOPG800 powered?

Two ways: from the HFC coaxial network's 60/90 VAC line power through a 40–120 VAC wide-range input (V1), or from 110–220 VAC AC mains (V3). No separate power supply is needed at the pole or cabinet.

What can the uOPG800 power over PoE?

Any IEEE 802.3af/at device — security and traffic cameras, digital signage, Wi-Fi access points — up to 30 W on one port and 75 W across all four ports, with per-port monitoring of voltage and current.

What conditions can the uOPG800 operate in?

It is rated IP67 against dust and water, operates from −40 °C to +60 °C, and carries 6 kV lightning protection for exposed outside-plant locations.

Which OLTs does the uOPG800 work with?

It is the reference ONU for UGrid U5 Series GPON OLTs, also works on the GPON ports of the U10 combo OLT, and interworks by design with mainstream ITU-T G.984.x OLTs via standard OMCI.
